Announced earlier this month, Company of Heroes 2 is the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed strategy titles of all time.
It will focus on the Eastern Front with the Russian and German forces available as playable armies, and offers new features including dynamic cover and snow. It also features TrueSight, which is a dynamic form of fog of war that allows for deeper tactical gameplay by revealing the map based on the line of sight for each unit which will make even the most tactical of us shed a tear.
The campaign begins in 1941 as the Nazis begin Operation Barbarossa, their costly, and ultimately doomed, attempted invasion of Russia. Snow-covered terrain will slow troop movement and provide cover, while units can now vault over cover points such as low walls. As expected, series developer Relic is behind the game, using their “state of the art” proprietary Essence 3.0 Engine to provide improved graphics, dynamic battle tactics and environmental destruction.
Relic Entertainment’s Greg Wilson said: “Company of Heroes 2 is a true successor, introducing a new front, new protagonists and new technology while retaining the unique mix of strategic gameplay and competitive multiplayer that made the original Company of Heroes such a success.”
As the title suggests the next installment of Saints Row: The Third DLC “Enter The Dominatrix” has been cancelled but it’s not all bad news. It has been been withdrawn from Saints Row 3 to become part of the next game in the series. This has been confirmed by THQ president Jason Rubin who stated
“When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise. When it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that’s why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013″
So we can still expect to see Enter The Dominatrix but in what is said to be a “broader appealing” sequel which is speculated to be released after April 2013 based on THQ’s profit predictions for 2014 meaning a release in the next financial year is more likely for Saints Row 4.
THQ have provided with a cinematic trailer for the upcoming video The Last Sermon which will serve as a live action prequel to the upcoming Darksiders 2 video game. As well as the cinematic release which you can view below there will be an extended director’s cut which will be unveiled on the Darksiders Facebook page. You will also be able to view the first U TV advertisement trailer “Leverage” tonight at around 10pm on FX.
At the E3 press conference it was announced that EA has taken the UFC license away from THQ. This was due to an undisclosed cash payment to THQ. THQ will continue to publish existing console and mobile titles through to 31st March 2013.

Earlier today we received some new screen shots and a video of the new title from THQ. Nexuiz is an arcade game which uses CryENGINE 3 and is rumoured to be a Arena FPS which has been specifically designed for the next generation console and pc.
For anyone who is not familar with this title here is some information from a press release we received earlier.
“For centuries the Kavussari and the Forsellians have waged war. They have a fragile truce but due to their seething disgust of each other they still pit their warriors against each other in arenas rather than on the fields of war.
Those episodes of lethal combat are now broadcast throughout the galaxy, as entertainment… a spectacle known as… The Nexuiz Competition: An arena based first person shooter where you can alter the rules of the match and laws of physics while you dominate opponents in ever-changing hostile environments bleeding with hatred
- Arena FPS is back – inspired by the giants of the Arena FPS genre, Nexuiz reinvents twitch gaming for next generation consoles and PC
- Over 100 ‘Dynamic Mutators’ serve as game-changing power-ups – Jetpacks, Uber-Nuke, Low Gravity, Big Head Mode and many more…
- 9 deadly arenas – powered by CryENGINE 3, Nexuiz sets a new graphical benchmark for a digital-only release
- Designed for competitive play – a superbly balanced weapon set, classic game modes, and extensive stat tracking, Medals and Leaderboard support
- Play solo or online – hone your skills against bots, then wage war online against the best in 4v4 multiplayer matches”
We think that this is going to be a very high octane shooter which will rival such games as Gears of War or Halo. When playing this game you get a distinct feel that this has been inspired or at the very least take some ideas into consideration from the popular arena FPS franchise Unreal Tournament. As well as this we managed to get some images from THQ to show you lovely people.
