Nintendo have confirmed that the latest Pokemon titles will arrive in Europe on October 12th. This is following shortly after the North American release date of October 7th. The eShop title Pokemon Dream Radar will also become available on the same day.
Pokemon Black and White 2 released in Japan earlier this month and sold a combined total of over 1.5 million units. The sequels to Black and White are still set in the Unova region and take place two years after the original events.
Today is the official release of Pokemon Black And White 2 in Japan, and with Nintendo very recently announcing their new 3DS XL console and the release of the highly anticipated WiiU coming up, the games they will provide for these devices are currently in the spotlight. Two days ago, Nintendo’s official YouTube posted a new trailer for their new DS title ‘Pokemon Black and White 2′. The trailer gives a short tour of the Unovia region and Aspertia City as well as featuring a teaser for the battle with new gym leader Roxie. Check the trailer out below, and if you’re a Pokemon fan, let us know your thoughts!
The currently expected European and North American release for the games is Q3 2012.
There was more news from last night’s Nintendo Direct announcement event: While Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 are going to be DS games, playable via the 3DS’ backwards compatibility, there will be some apps released (in Japan, as of now) to enhance the 3DS experience.
• Pokémon AR Searcher (pictured) is an AR shooting game Pokémon caught in this game can be taken into Black 2 and White 2. This will launch on the day the game releases, and will be available on the Nintendo eShop for ¥300.
• Pokémon Zenkoku Zukan Pro, described as “an updated version of the Pokemon management program Pokemon Rittai Zukan BW is to be released on July 14 at ¥1,500. Andriasang reports this “is actually a replacement for Rittai Zukan BW, which will be pulled from the e-Shop on June 17.”
There has been no word on these apps for the 3DS to be available to American or European users, but we feel this is very likely and we should see them soon after launch.
Remember my post the other day about Pokemon Black ad White 2 being announced, well here is the official trailer.
There has been rumours that this is going to be for the 3DS but many of you think that it will be cross compatible to keep the sales up to the highest they can be. All we know is that no matter what its on we cant wait.
If you have bee following our twitter feed you would have noticed we tweeted about a big announcement for Junichi Masuda of Game Freak when he took to the stage of the Japanese Pokemon Smash Sunday morning TV show. Rather than the expected ‘Pokémon Grey’ announcement, Masuda revealed that Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 will see simultaneous release in June in Japan. But there has been no annoucement of the release date in Europe or the USA at this tiime.
Two legendary Pokémon are shown in the game’s logo, but Masuda said he won’t be revealing the names of them until next week’s show. So you ca expect much more information to pop up closer to the time.
A teaser site for the games has opened, which doesn’t share much else at the moment, save for the logo, launch period and telling us the games are playable on Nintendo 3DS.
