After starting his mission five years I have finally reached the end of the epic Mass Effect trilogy and the end of German Shepard’s (yes that is my Shepard’s name) quest to stop the Reapers and save the galaxy so what better time to tell you what I thought of the last instalment on the trilogy.
Playing Mass Effect 3′s campaign is unlike playing any other it is a gripping and engrossing experience and not just a piece of light entertainment. From the opening scene until the very end Mass Effect 3 will play havoc with your emotions forcing you to make choices that could easily keep you awake at night and have contemplating whether or not you have made right choice and the impact it will now have which is something very few games and whether you like or not you can not take away the fact that the final decision on how to end your story will be one of the hardest you will have to make. It’s is through this amazing storytelling by Bioware that you become rather attached to each and every character from the ships medic Doctor Chakwas to Shepard’s romantic interest which for me was Kaidan (it was an an accidental choice, honestly) no matter there importance you care about your team unlike you have for any other AI in a game making some decisions even harder to make.
The incredible storytelling is also very well complemented by improved gameplay mechanics, the clumsy and inaccurate shooting of cover movements of previous instalments are gone replaced by precise flowing combat controls which are as good as those seen some of the best 3rd person shooters such as Gears of War. Thankfully the tedious and rather dull resource gathering from Mass Effect 2 is also no more although planets are still in need of scanning but this time it is a less dull affair and does not keep you away from the action for too long.
The graphics also remain at a high standard with cut-scenes looking exceptionally stunning if played on the higher resolutions however these could of been potentially improved by the addition of 3D which we have seen work so well in the likes of Crysis 2 and Batman Arkham City however it is absent from Mass Effect 3. The soundtrack remains as touching as ever playing at the right moments to aid the storytelling with tugging on those heart strings.
Mass Effect 3 also saw for the first time in the serious the addition of multilayer in the style of a horde type game mode seeing you and three allies fight against increasingly difficult enemies across ten waves. This at first is quite amusing and enjoyable but with it’s link to the single player not being completely essential and it only consisting of three enemy groups and around six maps after I a while I found myself not really having a reason to play it. The unlocking of equipment is also quite a random process which at times does not seem as rewarding as it should, you spend credits which you have earned on a mystery box of goodies however at times these can contain items of no use to you and your play style of course this does lead to elation when you finally unlock the character you where hoping for but the randomness of the unlock process means this could take an indefinite amount.
Overall with an incredible story and fast flowing gameplay Mass Effect 3 conclusion the epic plot will be a memorable experience that will see you playing it over and over again just to see how once small change in a decision will impact the rest of the story. The inclusion of an enjoyable multi player means this is almost a perfect game but with it lacking in some areas it’s a shame this is the last in the series meaning we may not see it improved on but if your a Mass Effect fan already then I know the multi player is not the reason you’ll be picking this up and if your not then now is the perfect time to jump in and play what is by far the best in the series.

A new image has been leaked showing an image which has several races as well as classes which are not in the game at this moment in time this was uploaded by Chachoregade who is a member of reddit. This was supposedly downloaded when he accessed a Developer Server which allowed him to download an unknown pack which unlocked all of the above. From what we can see there is going to be a Geth infiltrator, Geth engineer, Batarian Soldier, Batarian Sentinel, Krogan Battlemaster and an Asari Justicar. which allegedly are going to be Action figures according to Game Informer. They are going to be releasing Mass Effect action figures, which will give you a code, to unlock the character in multiplayer.
So, basically, Skylanders up in your Mass Effect. Although this has not been confirmed we here at Xperience Gaming really cant wait and want to get our hands on this ASAP.

ShopTo’s pleased to announce that all standard versions of Mass Effect 3 pre-ordered on the site will now come with the N7 warfare Pack DLC as an added bonus.
If like me you were let down by Game or Gamestation you most likely went looking else where for your copy of Mass Effect 3. I decided to get mine from ShopTo as they are a very reliable website and offer great games for a great price. Plus they had several copies in stock. I preordered the bog standard Edition which come with an extra gun which was for preordering it. But then this morning i was hit with this fantastic news
“Whether you are ordering on PC, PS3 or Xbox 360, ordering the standard edition will get you access to the following content:
Pack includes:
N7 Defender Armour:
Improved shields and health. Survive even the most punishing of battles and withstand sustained enemy fire.
N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle:
Deliver two rounds per shot with deadly accuracy. Stop the opposition dead in their tracks with superior high calibre rounds.
M-55 Argus Assault Rifle:
The Argus is a high-powered rifle favoured by senior C-Sec officers. An excellent close-range weapon, its bursts of fire ensure ammunition conservation during lengthy conflicts. Other law-enforcement agencies across the galaxy are adopting the Argus as their standard rifle, as much for its intimidation factor as its suppression power.
If you have already pre-ordered the standard edition you’ll automatically be upgraded to receive this DLC”
So as you can see if you preorder the basic edition you get a whole heap of DLC for free. What are you waiting for head on over to ShopTo now and preorder your copy.

[update 1 It has just been announced that Gamestation have pulled there preorders now, meaning that they are also not stocking any EA title after friday. Shares for both company's have also just plummeted to 8.93% off Game Group PLC's stock value, There has also been a leaked memo which you can see at the bottom of the page this memo shows the exact words from EA to game. ]
Original Story
Like many of you, we woke up this morning to find that Game has recently told everyone that they will not be stocking Mass Effect 3 or any other EA title after SSX which is due for release friday. Like me you may now be asking yourself, What happens to my £5 which they made me pay so that I was “guaranteed” a copy?
You can try phoning there help center where you are greeted with a message saying that “if you are calling regarding a Mass Effect Preorder then go to our website for more info”. If like me you didn’t want to do that but wanted to stay on the phone to get the information straight from the horse’s mouth. You will then be told that they are unable to take your call at the moment please try the website. We then thought we would take their advice and head to the website and what were we greeted with? A huge banner saying ” Pre order your Mass Effect today” So not only is the Voice Recording on the phone line a liar but the website has also not been updated. So several minutes on and im none the wiser. After digging deeper and speaking to EA we have found out this is happening because EA and Game cannot agree on a deal which matches the deal they have with other publishers. We were then told that Game will not be stocking any EA games from march and EA has not got ay idea on what will be happening to my £5 preorder deposit. After several google searches later I then found that I will be getting my £5 plus another £5 added to my card in points. Which means I am now £5 missing towards my Mass Effect 3 preorder as well as I have this £5 floating around for use in a company that seems to be falling apart.
This then raises the question what happens about Gamestation. The last we heard they are owned by the same company, so doesn’t that mean Gamestation will not be selling Mass Effect 3 which means that even more people are left without there preorder and their money floating in a shop which is apparently becoming useless. We remember the days that Game was the only reliable shop around, one that you would choose over everything else. But now it seems that it is fighting for life and grasping at straws to keep afloat.
While looking through the DLC section on xbox.com I happened to stumble across an item that happened to capture my eye, it was only the first piece of dlc that is for the upcoming Sci Fi RPG Mass Effect 3
Warning: Minor spoilers
This is the image showing Mass Effect 3′s first piece of DLC, which was supposed to be released on February 20th according to the post. this DLC will apparantly allow players to “unearth lost secrets from the past” and allow you to recruit a Prothen race.

When Xperience Gaming tried to download the DLC pack, we received an error message saying, “Cannot retrieve information from Xbox LIVE.”
We’ve got straight onto bioware for a comment on this mistake, you will be the first to know when we do so make sure you watch this space.
[UPDATE]
After checking the official Bioware Blog we have found this:
“Hi all!
We’re happy to confirm that Mass Effect 3: From Ashes DLC will be available at launch for all platforms. For those of you who have purchased the N7 Collector’s Edition (including the PC Digital Deluxe Edition), you will get this content at no extra charge. We’ll have a lot more details for you later this week! Stay Tuned! “
Thankfully, this piece of leaked DLC was not a spoiler and was but a piece of DLC which comes with the Mass Effect 3 Collector Edition. So no real threat of a game ruining spoiler. but after even closer inspection at the Bioware forum there is a debate going on as in the Collectors Edition contents it shows that it has:
This exclusive and limited package includes:
• Premium metal case featuring commemorative artwork of both male and female versions of Commander Shepard.
• 70-page hardbound art book featuring hundreds of unique and gorgeous illustrations from the BioWare development team.
• Limited edition Mass Effect comic by Dark Horse Comics, complete with unique cover artwork.
• Join the ranks of the N7 with the premium fabric N7 patch.
• Exclusive 4×6 lithographic print featuring a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.
• A full collection of in-game content that can’t be found anywhere else!
o N7 Arsenal Pack – Bring the firepower with the N7 Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, and Pistol.
o Robotic Dog – A faithful sidekick to keep you company on board the Normandy.
o Squadmate Alternate Outfit Pack – New appearances for squad members Ashley, Kaiden, James and Liara.
o N7 Hoodie – For Commander Shepard’s casual days on board the Normandy.
• Relive all the greatest moments of Mass Effect 3 with the digital soundtrack.
• Xbox LIVE Normandy prop for your Avatar. (Available on Xbox 360 version only.)
• Display your initiation in the N7 ranks with a collection of forum and social badges, avatars, and perks.
Therefore was this an actual leak that Bioware decided to cover up? did Micheal Gamble the Bioware associate producer make the decision to hide this mistake as it was to close to release to actually change anything about this, or was it a marketing ploy to add publicity as earlier this week there was also a leak in Mass Effect 3 books.
What do you think? let us know.
So we all know pre order bonuses can be tedious as it favours people who buy on the day of the release and varies from store to store, butwhen it comes to Mass Effect 3 it wouldnt matter if they asked me to fly to the moon and back just for a new weapon skin I would sure give it a try. So what does this new video show, well the new Valyrie armour which is gave to as a pre-order bonus, so now sit back and enjoy the short clip.
I’d like to start by first saying that this review may be a little biased as I am a huge Mass Effect fan and have been following it since the series began, therefore I will be taking the paragon approach to this review.
I was fortunate enough to get early access to both the singleplayer and multiplayer portions of the demo and after over a week with it I have to the conclusion Mass Effect 3 will be outstanding. Of course you probably want to know why. One example is that now not only can you control the story itself but before beginning your campaign to stop the Reapers you a presented with three choices on the style of gameplay you would prefer to play under. For the original Mass Effect and RPG fans of course playing it as a role playing game is an option but those who are more gun-ho and just want to focus on the combat without spending too time much interacting with all the characters the galaxy has to offer there is also the Action option. The third option available allows for the gameplay to focus mainly on the telling of the story with the difficulty level of the combat kept low. This choice of gameplay style is to me a good addition to series, making more appealing to wider audience and allowing you to truly play the game how you wish making the decision you see fit creating a very unqiue and custom experience.
Moving on to the campaign it begins where The Arrival DLC for Mass Effect 2 left off with Commander Shepard preparing to face to the consequences of his actions however this is interrupted by the predicted Reaper invasion what follows is a gripping sequence of action and emotion that almost brought a tear to my eye at one point brilliantly displaying the storytelling talent of the people at Biowares and setting the scene for the climax to this epic trilogy.
The demo then moves you along to a point later in game which is mianly action focused on aimed at showing off the improved combat system which has become faster and more precise with added melee moves and weaponary combined with more accurate aiming and and improved cover system combat is better then ever before. There is still however one more way to improve on what already seems a flawless comba system and that is to add kinect. The box art brags the game is “better with kinect” and well let mem tell you it’s not lying adding kinect makes the combat flow faster without interuption and become more immersiv, no more taking cover and scrolling through various power wheels instead just shout your squad commands and watch you enemies be dispatched. I found myself only using my controller for movement and aiming with everything else being controlled by my voice with the kinect be more responsive then some humans I have played using my controller to switch guns seemed such an inferior method.
The campaign was only half of this demo the second part being the multiplayer which at first i was sceptical about when it seemd to be just another survival game mode that we have become used to. After playing for a few hours i realised this was not the case this is more then just a survival mode it requires strategy and team work to succeed and becomes quite a challenge. It will be interesting to see how this links in with the singleplayer experience as so far we have been teased with just a sample of the games mutliplayer leaving more to be discovered upon the games launch.
Having pre-ordered this game months ago and wanting it since witnessing the end of the Mass Effect 2 I did not think it where possible for me to become even more eager to play it however the demo has achieved this by displaying the superb story telling and combat with havecome to expect from the series as well as new gaming enhancing improvements and the addition of multiplayer. My only complaint is that it cut short my fight back against the Reapers and I now have to wait until the games release on March 9th to continue this fight.
