Harry Potter for Kinect has been announced by Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment.
The game covers the events of all eight films, with players using Kinect to control the series’ most iconic scenes.
Players will have to use both hand gestures and their voice in order to be able to cast spells in wizard duels. Players will have to call out spell names in order to play this game, just like in the movies. The Kinect will use the camera’s face detecting feature to allow players to put themselves into the game and join Harry, Hermione and Ron. Players are able to use their own avatar and are able to visit Ollivanders and choose a house with the sorting hat and players can take part in mini-games such as Quidditch and casting spells.
WB’s Samantha Ryan said “Harry Potter for Kinect will engage Harry Potter fans old and new by bringing them into the wizarding world as truly active participants,”
“Kids and parents will enjoy recreating their favourite Harry Potter adventures, from flying a broomstick in a Quidditch match, to battling pixies and duelling other wizards.”
Harry Potter for Kinect will exclusively be available on Xbox this autumn.
