Tomb Raider to receive Multiplayer DLC

Tomb Raider is to receive its first batch of DLC in the shape of  a Multiplayer Map Pack.

The map pack will be an Xbox 360 Timed exclusive and will be available to download from Xbox Live on March 19 for 400 Microsoft Points.

It was announced at E3 2012 that all DLC will be timed exclusive to Xbox 360, but it is unknown how long it will be exclusive for.

Details of the map pack:

  • Scavenger Caverns: An extensive subterranean network of caves used by the island’s scavengers as an underground prison
  • Cliff Shantytown: This scavenger settlement was built high up on the island cliffs. Its many layers hide some of the deadliest traps on the island
  • The Burning Village: A raging fire has embraced an abandoned Japanese village, the burning buildings offer multiple ways to escape or engage your enemies

New Mass Effect 3 DLC Teased

Mass Effect 3‘s next DLC add-on has been teased by BioWare. On the company’s official forums, series designer Jos Hendriks revealed that the next DLC features eight writers, bringing together writers from all of the previous DLC packs”It’s all hands on deck for this one. Pretty much every ME3 DLC writer here in Edmonton is involved (which would include both Patrick Weekes and John Dombrow),” Hendriks said.

The team also includes Mac Walters, who was lead writer from the main Mass Effect 3 story. Later, Mass Effect 3 composer Sam Hulick tweeted that he is also working on new music for the DLC, and that he expects it to be an emotional experience.

“Tossing in piano and muted strings for this one particular piece. High potential for tears,” Hulick said BioWare has not officially announced the next Mass Effect 3 DLC, but hacked files from the previous expansions suggest it will involve or take place on the Citadel. That same hacked file method had previously revealed the names Leviathan and Omega before those expansions were announced.

Black Ops 2 Nuke Town DLC code fails for PS3 Users

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 users are experiencing problems redeeming ‘Nuketown 2025′ codes on the PS3.

Codes for ‘Nuketown 2025′ were issued to pre-order customers and included as part of the Black Ops 2: Hardened Edition.However, a number of PS3 users have been unable to download the multiplayer map, with some reporting that their codes have already been used in Germany.

Activision has urged fans to keep trying their codes while it looks into the matter.

The PS3 version has been experiencing server issues since launch, with a large number of users unable to connect to multiplayer matches.

Game design director David Vonderhaar previously told forum users that the team was working hard on a fix, before tweeting: “We are indeed up and running, but we are also aware not everyone can connect. We are investigating something with our partners at Sony.

“We are currently testing backend matchmaking changes that we think can help with this. I don’t have a time table, or I would tell you.”

Brand new ‘Borderlands 2′ DLC announced Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage DLC

Borderlands 2‘s second campaign DLC has been announced by Gearbox Software.

Titled ‘Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage’, the DLC will introduce the Huge Mr. Torgue, head of the Torgue weapons company.”Are you a badass enough badass to survive ‘Mister Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage?’” said a tweet from a Gearbox account for the character. “I’m legit curious cause I dunno you that well.”

The add-on is the second of four pieces of campaign DLC releasing between now and June 2013.

The first add-on was ‘Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty’ which released last month.

Each pack costs $9.99 (£6.30) on PC and PS3 and 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80 / $10) on the Xbox 360.

All four pieces of DLC are included in the Season Pass, which can be picked up for $29.99 (£18.90) on PS3 and PC, and 2400 Microsoft Points (£20 / $30) on Xbox 360.

Skyrim: Dawnguard DLC out now on PC but delayed on PS3

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s Dawnguard expansion is now available on PC. Fans were surprised last week the expansions presumed 30- day exclusivity on Xbox 360 came up and no PC or PlayStation 3 version was released. However, after a week long delay Dawnguard is now available for PC users through steam for £13.99 / $19.99.

Bethesda has confirmed that there will be a PlayStation 3 version of Dawnguard and it will be released soon. The studio have said

“We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3.”

“We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC.

“We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality.”

Skyrim’s ‘Dawnguard’ DLC includes a new plotline which allows players to choose to be with an evil Vampire Lord or whether they want to join the ancient order of Dawnguard in order to stop him. The game  also features a new quest line and a number of additional locations.

Forza: Motorsport’s 4 Playseat car pack DLC announced

Microsoft have announced that there will be a new Forza: Motorsport 4 ‘ Playseat car pack’.

The DLC will feature ten new cars in which will include the following:

  • 1962 Lincoln Continental
  • 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302
  • 2003 Aston Martin DB7 Zagato
  • 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
  • 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track

The new DLC will be available to download on the 7th of August and will cost 560 Microsoft Points. (£4.80)

Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC Detailed

Mass Effect 3‘s ‘Leviathan’ DLC details were announced today by Electronic Arts. Leaked last month, the expansion is going to be set during the course of the story campaign, Shepard will investigate rumours of a mysterious being said to be capable of defeating the Reapers.EA said that Players will see new planets and star systems, new areas of the Citadel and meet new characters to further flesh out the game’s story and flesh out the history of the Reapers.

Images of the DLC show Shepard piloting a mechanical suit in an underwater environment as well as a Reaper-infested industrial area, revealing that at least two new planets will be available. Players can also unlock the new AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle weapons.

In addition to ‘Leviathan’, BioWare also revealed the ‘Firefight Weapon Pack’ DLC. It will offer “two powerful new weapons and five bonus weapons” for the single-player campaign.The ‘Firefight Weapons Pack’ will be available for £1.36 / 160 Microsoft Points on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 starting August 7.

The ‘Leviathan’ DLC will be available for £6.80 / 800 MS Points on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this summer. EA also today revealed that Mass Effect 3 will be a launch title on Wii U this holiday season. It was not mentioned whether the ‘Leviathan’ DLC will be included in the Wii U version or if that will be DLC after the game is released.

Modern Warfare 3 DLC leaked in alleged gameplay video

some gamer has allegedly leaked a video for Infinity Wards next lot of DLC for Modern Warfare 3.  The new Spec Ops mission for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are supposedly going to be  Light ‘Em Up, which sees you rescuing hostages. There’s word of another mission, Special Delivery, which sounds like a bombing run. Both are allegedly scheduled for release in August.

Skyrim Dawnguard DLC – PS3 and PC info to come later this week

More information on the release of Skyrim’s Dawnguard DLC for PS3 and PC is to come later this week.

This news comes after a user asked PR manager Pete Hines about the release for the DLC. The Bethesda Softworks employee replied with “Nothing has been said/announced about it. We should have info later this week.”

This doesn’t necessarily mean a release date, but could be one step further to making the content multi-platform, after it released over a month ago on the Xbox 360.

Bioware are giving you the chance to win an Earth pack character in the upcoming weekend in Mass Effect, and if you already have the DLC, you might have some use for your content!

Over this weekend (July 27th-July 30th), Bioware are holding a special ‘Operation Overwatch’ bounty weekend. All the details for your Mass Effect filled weekend are below!

Operation

Operation Overwatch drops troops on Earth to tackle the most secure Reaper strongholds. Reaper anti-air defense will make for high-risk shuttle extractions.

Squad Goal: Extraction on any difficulty with at least one squad member using an “Earth Pack” character.

Allied Goal: Extract 800,000 individual players on any difficulty, with each live member counting toward the goal.

Squad Goal Success: All squad members awarded a Commendation Pack.

Allied Goal Success: All players awarded a Victory Pack that includes a new “Earth” character.

Special Circumstance: Extraction time lengthened due to failure of Operation Broadside.

Requirement: Mass Effect 3‘s “Earth” DLC must be installed to earn these rewards.
