Television show X-Play have revealed via Twitter that Epic Games’ Rod Fergusson confirmed with them that Gears of War: Judgment will arrive in March 2013.
Previously thought to be expected early 2013, we now have a specific date for the fourth game in the franchise. After Gears of War 3′s September 2011 release, Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly announced they would be working alongside Epic on the next instalment in the saga. Gears of War: Judgment will focus on soldier Damon Baird (above image, middle) and as revealed recently, the game, as once thought, will not capitalise on Kinect capabilities.
Other games set for this launch window include the new Tomb Raider title and God of War: Ascension.

Gears of War developer Cliffy Bleszinski has revealed that the latest title in the series ‘Gears of War: Judgment’ will not feature Kinect support. After revealing this, the developer gave the Kinect a pity compliment in for the form of this quote: “I like Kinect, I’ve been a fan of it, but I don’t think it has been fully realised as far as the potential of the device. Dance Central 3 looks great and all, but I’m curious how the ‘core’ games will work out.”
This comes after Epic Games revealed that the title ‘Gears of War: Exile’, which would have featured full Kinect support, was scrapped earlier this year. Even though the game was never officially confirmed, the rumour was the game would be an ‘on-rails Kinect shooter’. After this cancellation, many thought that Judgment would incorporate the rumoured title promised, but with this revelation by the games developer, it appears not.

343 Industries have revealed that depending on the popularity of their new game mode Spartan Ops in Halo 4, it could span across multiple seasons. The next title in the Halo franchise will not have firefight but will include this new co-op Spartan Ops mode. Each mission will be episodic and will be released periodically.
However, these “seasons” will only be produced if the players enjoys the original instalments of the mode.

Gears of War: Judgement features the new multiplayer mode OverRun, a mix of Gears 3′s Horde and Beast modes in which teams take turns to play the Locust. In a controversial touch, there are now COG classes – Engineer, Medic, Sniper and Attacker.
And we have the first screens for you all to view.
One of the big questions that everyone is asking is why pick the loud mouth, sarky Baird as new leading man? Well Rod Fergusson has the answer here.
“Baird we found out through a bunch of customer surveys that Baird is actually the most beloved male character of all of our cast in Gears of War 3. Anya was number one, and he was number two in terms of total cast. And Cole got a story, the locker room scene in Gears of War 3, and we obviously did Dom’s story and Marcus’s story, so we thought: who could we focus on next? We have a huge world with a lot of time, let’s go to a time and a place we haven’t been to before. So we take you to Halvo Bay, 14 years before Gears of War 1 with Baird.”
There are also details of the game’s new, class-based multiplayer pitting the COGs against the Locust. The stars each have their own specialisations (Baird is engineer, Cole is soldier, Sofia is medic and Garron is scout/sniper) and the Locust have Locust Wretches, Tickers, Kantus, “Grenadier mauler blood mounts”, Corpsers and Serapedes.
