Nintendo have announced that in addition to the WiiU releasing at the end of this year, the new 3DS XL console will be hitting shelves shortly. With a European release date of July 28, the console is a little over a month from release and with a 46 percent increase in size, will they get an increase in profit?
The console will be released in white, red and black, and silver and black colour variants. The North American date is August 19 and will come in blue and red variants. The 3DS XL features larger screens, a bigger body, and longer battery life, along with a larger SD card. The console will last on its battery for between 3.5 and 6.5 hours while running 3DS software but can last up to 10 hours whilst running games on the device.
No UK/Europe pricing is available yet, but the North American version will sell for $199.99 and the Japanese version for 18,900 yen ($235).
